Click Here for a Teen Advisory Board/Teen Volunteer application. The members of the Teen Advisory Board (TAB) meet twice a month at all library branches to suggest and plan programs for Middle and High School students (ages 11-18); prepare newsletters; suggest books and other materials for the library to purchase; learn about additional volunteer opportunities; and generally advise the library on ways to meet the needs of today's teens. Any High School or Middle School student with a Pasco County Library card may be a Teen Volunteer or be a part of the Teen Advisory Board. Teen Advisory Board meetings give one service hour per meeting. Teen Volunteers are asked to commit to at least two additional hours per week. They may be asked to shelve books; help keep the Youth Services Department in order; prepare props and crafts for preschool programs; help a librarian during children's programs; and work on projects assigned by the librarians. Teen Volunteers can use their volunteer hours for Bright Futures or other scholarships or as work experience on job applications. Teen volunteers can earn service points for clubs or honor societies. Teen Advisory Board members help shape how the libraries work. Click Here for an application. We also have active volunteer programs for adults. Adults should contact the Branch Volunteer Coordinator at their nearest library. |
