What should I expect when I enter the library?
You will be greeted by a library staff member at the door who will be monitoring the number of people in the building and who will remind you about face covering and social distancing requirements.
Are face coverings required?
In accordance with CDC recommendations, we are requiring that both staff and the public wear face coverings. If you do not have a face covering, we will have a limited supply available.
Will I be able to browse for materials like normal?
Magazines and newspapers are not available for browsing at this time. Magazines, however, can now be checked out, including current issues. All other material areas are open for your browsing pleasure. Social distancing is required. If you pick up an item that you decide not to check out, we ask that you put it on the designated “unwanted materials” carts.
Will there be seating areas?
There will be limited seating, spaced accordingly to meet social distancing requirements.
Are study rooms available?
Yes, in branches that have study rooms, they are now available and can be reserved in the usual way.
Are public computers available?
Computers are available and can be reserved in the usual way. They have been placed farther apart now to accommodate social distancing guidelines.
Will there be programming?
All in-person programs are postponed until further notice. However, branches are now offering virtual programming. See Event Calendar for more details.
Is there a change in how I check-out materials?
To limit contact, self-check-out machines are to be used to check out materials. Staff will be available for assistance.
Will curbside pick-up still be an option?
Yes, we will continue to offer curbside service. View Curbside Pick-Up of Holds FAQ for more details.
What are the branches’ hours?
Effective Monday, July 6, all branches will revert to their regular hours of operation (Centennial Park and New River remain closed for remodeling).
What safeguards are being taken to ensure patron safety?
Your health and safety are of utmost importance to us. We are continuing to disinfect high-touch surfaces throughout the day, plexiglass barriers have been installed, markings on the floor indicate social distancing, and we have hand sanitizer dispensers in each branch.
How long will this limited reopening phase last?
Updates on changes will be provided through our website and social media. Thank you for your continued patience and understanding.
When will materials that I've returned come off my account?
We are quarantining materials as we receive them, so they will appear on your account for a few days longer until they are processed.
