What is Beanstack?

  • Beanstack is a website and app that promotes reading through various quests and activities. Track your reading and earn digital badges from completing quests ! During Summer Reading Quest, participants who complete the quest are entered into drawings for prizes!

Can you register multiple readers on an account?

  • Yes, you can set up as many profiles as you'd like for readers of any age! This feature is great for families, schools, or other groups. You can easily log reading for multiple profiles at one time.

Star Spangled Stories Reading Quest

For All Ages | May 17, 2026 - Aug 2, 2026

Get ready for an amazing summer filled with Star Spangled Stories! From May 17 – August 2, Pasco County Library readers of all ages can join the Summer Reading Quest.

Those who enter the summer reading quest and log 600 minutes through the Beanstack app are entered in a drawing to win a $100 Visa Gift Card in their age category!

1000 Books Before Kindergarten

For Ages 0 - 5 | Ongoing

Build strong readers from the very beginning with the 1,000 Books Before Kindergarten Reading Quest! Join the quest and watch your child grow in confidence, curiosity and early literacy.

Complete the quest by reading 1,000 books including repeat reads. Reading 1,000 books is easier than you think! Every book counts from bedtime favorites to library storytimes to family read-alouds and even re-reads. Let’s grow a love for reading one book at a time.

For every 100 books you complete, visit your nearest Pasco County library branch to receive a special prize!


The 1,000 Books Before Kindergarten Reading Quest is created by the 1000 Books Foundation to establish strong early literacy skills and encourage parent child bonding.

Once registered, readers aged 0 – 5 will can join "1,000 Books Before Kindergarten" through Beanstack. Once registered, start logging books towards your quest to receive prizes!

Yes. Repeat readings of the same book can be logged to progress in the quest. 

Web Browser: 

  1. Select [Log Reading] 
  2. Select your reader and search or select the title
  3. Under 'Did you finish the book?', select the toggle to the green check mark
  4. Enter your books completed in “How many books did you complete?” 

Mobile App:

  1. Select the [+] icon and [Reading] 
  2. Choose your reader and select your title 
  3. Select from Recently Logged Titles or search the title in the search bar 
  4. Once the title is confirmed, select [Quick Complete] to log the book

Readers may also log books read without associating titles. This will allow the reader to enter the amount of books read with no association to a specific book.

NOTE: No title data will be saved for this type of entry.

  3. Under 'Did you finish the book?', select the toggle to the green check mark
  4. Enter your books completed in “How many books did you complete?” 

Mobile App:

  1. Select the [+] icon and [Reading] 
  2. Choose your reader
  3. Select [Log Without a Title]
  4. Enter your books completed in “How many books did you complete?”

For each 100 books read, readers can visit the library to earn a sticker! Specialty stickers are given at the 100 and 500 milestone.

When you complete the challenge and log 1,000 books, readers will earn a medal and certificate of completion!

Visit your local Pasco County Library and visit the service desk to redeem your prize. 


Patrons of all ages may enter to win prizes by completing quests through Beanstack (pascolibraries.beanstack.org). Each Pasco County library branch may offer additional prizes with varying requirements. Participation in the Beanstack reading quests is not required, but winning individuals must be present to pick up the prize at a Pasco County Library branch.
