Pasco County Libraries will be CLOSED Monday, May 26 for Memorial Day. The library will reopen at its regular hours Tuesday, May 27.

The Ingenuity Lab

The Ingenuity Lab at Hugh Embry Library is a dynamic STEAM space designed for elementary-aged patrons that encourages imagination and hands-on learning. Join us for a new creative activity each week or explore your own ideas with a variety of fun, STEAM-related materials. There’s always something exciting happening, so drop in anytime Monday through Thursday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. no registration necessary. Bring your curiosity and start exploring the exciting world of STEAM!

Using the Ingenuity Lab

  • Check in with a staff member at the front desk upon arrival. 
  • Each child is able to use the Ingenuity Lab for a one-hour period. 
  • Only 3 children and 3 adults are allowed in the Ingenuity Lab at a single time. 
  • When finished, tidy up your work area and check out with a staff member at the front desk. 

 

Age Requirements

  • The Ingenuity Lab may be used by patrons between the ages 5 to 12 years old when accompanied by a parent or guardian.  
  • Please note a signed liability waiver is required before participating in any Ingenuity Lab activity. 

 

Makerspace Playbook and Required Waiver 

  • Makerspace Playbook: This playbook must be consented to, and signed by the participant - and parent/guardian if applicable - before use of space is permitted.
  • Pasco County Liability Waiver and Permission Form: This waiver must be consented to, and signed by the participant - and parent/guardian if applicable - before use of space is permitted.
