Position Overview and Impact:

Our teen volunteers help with a variety of tasks based on branch needs. This can include: the opportunity to participate in Teen Advisory Board and have a say in teen programs and services, keep our shelves clean and tidy, assist with craft preparation, and help with setup and breakdown for programs. 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Attend Teen Advisory Board meetings
  • Opportunity to serve on the Teen Advisory Board as an officer
  • Assist with program preparation
  • Keep the library and shelves clean and organized
  • Manage and track hours in the Vicnet volunteer system
  • Other tasks as assigned

Qualifications:

  • Must be at least 13 years of age
  • Ability to work independently and with library staff
  • Ability to follow both written and oral directions
  • Must be able to lift tables, bend, stoop and carry items
  • Must be punctual, reliable, and have a positive attitude

Training and support provided:

  • Orientation, training and mentoring

  •  Varies based on branch needs
