ABOUT THE FRIENDS OF THE LIBRARY
Friends of the Pasco County Library System, Inc. is a not-for-profit organization of people who share a belief that a strong public library is essential for a thriving community. There are seven branch-specific Friends groups that operate independently, but also collaborate to contribute to the overall success and financial stability of the Countywide Friends Organization. These groups work together to enrich the resources of the Pasco County libraries for the benefit of all Pasco citizens through fundraising, volunteering, and advocacy efforts.
The Friends organization fosters closer relations between the libraries and citizens of Pasco County and work to help facilitate a strong relationship between the Pasco County Board of County Commissioners and the Friends of the Pasco County Library System, Inc.
The Friends organization makes many of the cultural, art, music, storytime, summer reading, and technology programs of the Pasco Library System possible by providing funding not met through traditional county support.
Becoming a Friend of the library is your best way to show that the public library is important to you, your family and your community.
BOOKSTORES & BOOK DONATIONS
Did you know? Every Pasco County Library System branch has a Friends Bookstore. All of our bookstores accept book donations. The guidelines for gifts and donations are available here. You can also support our libraries by visiting any one of our branches and buying a book from one of our Friends’ bookstores. All proceeds go directly to the Friends of the Library and directly benefit our library programming.
