Volunteer Program—Growing Stronger Together

Position Overview and Impact:

All library branches have Chapters for their respective Friends of the Pasco County Library System Friends Organization. This extremely important organi- zation helps the library by funding public programs, staff workshops and other educational seminars and by advocating on behalf of the library in the commu- nity.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Participate and help organize, set up, run and clean up branch book sales or other money making endeavors

  • Keep accurate banking and financial records for each respective branch

  • Attend and/or participate in Friends meetings

  • Meet with branch supervisors to discuss the needs of the branch

  • Promote the Friends Groups at local events


  • Be a self starter and work without close supervision

  • Interact and communicate successfully with others

  • Have a positive attitude and a willingness to advocate on behalf of the library

Training and support provided:

      * Orientation, training and mentoring

Time Commitment:

      * One to two (2) hours per week, based on branch needs
