Teen Advisory Board & Volunteering

Approved TABers & Volunteers:
Please log your service activity in VICNET, our new Volunteer Information Center Portal.

What can TAB members do ?

      • meet twice a month, at most branches

      • advise the library on ways to meet the needs of today’s teens

      • suggest & plan programs & select material purchases for middle and high school students

      • assist with fundraising

      • learn about additional volunteer opportunities

What can Teen Volunteers do ?

      • give at least 2 hours a week

      • shelve books

      • help keep the Youth Services Department in order

      • help a librarian prepare props or crafts for preschool or children’s programs

      • work on projects assigned by the librarians

      • assist with teens and teen programs and special events AND, if you’re in TAB, you get an additional one (1) hour of service per meeting ! 

Did You Know?

      • Teen volunteers can use their volunteer hours for Bright Futures or other scholarships or as work experience on job applications  

      • Teen volunteers can earn service points for clubs or honor societies 

      • Note: Court-ordered community service hours may be granted at the sole discretion of individual library branch managers. Contact your local branch for additional information.
